On Friday, February 18, Billboard and Samsung announced their partnership for an exhilarating roster of concerts throughout 2022 SXSW.
The “Samsung + Billboard Present The Stage at SXSW” event will occur from March 17 to 19. It will hold three successive nights of distinguished headliners at the Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park in Austin, Texas, its most recent outdoor live music venue.
The set of concerts will begin Thursday, March 17, with Gunna and Young Thug headlining the show, and on Friday, March 18, Palm Tree Crew introduces Kygo, backed by Frank Walker and Forester. On Saturday, March 19, Shawn Mendes and Sebastian Yatra will conclude the event.
During those three nights, audiences can party along to DJ Rosegold and DJ VRYWVY sets.
Samsung Galaxy is sponsoring the event and exclusively hosting the shows on Friday and Saturday. In addition, the SXSW Samsung | Billboard Galaxy House will provide guests the chance to encounter fascinating panel content and interconnect with Samsung products on-site.
It includes the brand-new Samsung Galaxy S22 and the brand row activation, pop-up moments, gifting artists and customer touchpoints during the concerts.
Billboard will donate a chunk of the ticket proceeds to Waterloo Greenway Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that wants to develop an urban park system in collaboration with Austin city.
The first aspect (out of three) of the organization’s aim—Waterloo Park—has been established in 2021 to offer 11 acres of downtown green space, community programming and performing arts and entertainment at the Moody Amphitheater.
A significant amount of reserved tickets will be exclusively accessible for badge holders of SXSW music and platinum and wristband holders of the SXSW Music Festival. Moreover, the public can only avail of a limited number of tickets beginning Friday.
