Thursday night saw Britney Spears wed fitness coach Sam Asghari in front of a star-studded crowd, with Madonna, Drew Barrymore, and Paris Hilton witnessing their exchange of vows.
In 2016, Spears met Asghari on the set of her video for “Slumber Party,” – a song from her Glory album. The two quickly became lovers and started dating.
The nuptials is Spears’ third while it’s Asghari’s first. The pop icon was wedded to a childhood friend, Jason Allen Alexander, in 2016 for only 55 hours – quickly filing an annulment. Not long after, she married Kevin Federline.
Spears and Federline’s marriage lasted less than ten years, and they share two children: Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden, 15.
Hours before the ceremony, Spears’ first husband was taken into custody for trying to crash it. However, he told security his ex-wife issued him an invitation, all in an Instagram live.
“She’s my first wife, my only wife. I’m her first husband. I’m here to crash the wedding,” he stated in a clip shot by TMZ.

Spears and Asghari’s wedding happened following a chaotic but hopeful whirlwind of events for the Grammy winner over the past few months. Thirteen years after living under a conservatorship, a jury’s verdict ordered the termination of the legal arrangement in November 2021, giving Spears the control over her estate and finances again.
After the ruling, Spears took to social media to express her gratitude to fans, writing, “I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!! Best day ever.”
“History was made today,” he wrote on social media, also celebrating the legal victory as he has been supporting Spears during the court hearings. “Britney is free!”
In September of last year, Spears and Asghari revealed their engagement. They announced early this year that they were expecting a baby together.
However, in a joint Instagram statement in May, the couple said they had lost their “miracle baby.”
“It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy,” it said. “This is a devastating time for any parent.”
“Our love for each other is our strength,” the statement concluded on a hopeful note. “We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all of your support.”
