Chris Evans Wants Johnny Storm More than Cap

Captain America might not appear anytime soon, but it doesn’t mean Chris Evans has no role in the modern Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Before his iconic role as Steve Rogers, Evans was Johnny Storm. He took the screen by storm in Tim Story’s Fantastic Four and captured fans’ hearts with this spirited performance that left them breathless.

Evans said he would be more inclined to play the role of Johnny Storm again than Cap.

“God, wouldn’t that be great?” Evans responded when asked about coming back as the Human Torch.

“But no, no one’s ever come to me about that. I mean, I don’t exactly look the same anymore. That was 15. Almost 20 years ago. Oh my God, I’m old. I really love that character, but I think… aren’t they doing something now with Fantastic Four?”

Chris may have a point. For some time now, Marvel Studios has had a Fantastic Four movie on the books. However, it had a conflict when filmmaker Jon Watts left the project. And then Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness came, where John Krasinski portrays Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic, Fantastic Four’s leader, from a parallel universe.

The existence of a multiverse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe means that Krasinski’s future role could be confirmed or otherwise depending on how they pull off their upcoming films. The latest information suggests that Johnny Storm may return, even though Evans’s age does not match what would happen if he were to reprise his iconic part.

“Look, I would love it,” Evans further stated.

“I would love it. That would actually be an easier sell to me than coming back as Cap. Cap is so precious to me, and I almost don’t want to disrupt what a beautiful experience that was. But Johnny Storm, I feel like he didn’t really get his day. That was before Marvel really found its footing. So, I loved that role and, you know, who knows?”
