The world of Stranger Things has now hosted an Arnold Schwarzenegger-tied scene.
In the most-thrilling Season 4 finale of Stranger Things, Hawkins Police Chief Jim Hopper (David Harbour) wields a fancy sword while fighting the prison’s Demogorgon. Turns out the sword is connected to another 1980s action-fantasy movie.
Harbor said in an interview with British GQ on Monday that the prop was the exact same one used by Schwarzenegger in 1982’s Conan the Barbarian.
“I don’t know if you saw this, but that sword I pick up – it’s the actual prop sword they used in Conan the Barbarian,” Harbour stated. “It’s the sword that Schwarzenegger swings in the movie.”
The action-packed scene is collocated with the moment of Venca-slash-Henry-One’s (Jamie Campbell Bower) destruction of Hawkins. Its most exciting moment: Jim and Joyce’s kiss, which Harbour confessed was “a bit of fan service.”

“There was always a tension between should this be consummated, or should they just be friends?” Harbour revealed. “And I do think it’s a bit of fan service. I think there was a real appetite for mommy and daddy to get back together again. And then once we were on that train, it seemed like an inevitability.”
Meanwhile, Harbour reflected on the ups and downs of his career, such as not-so-positive reviews about his 2019 Hellboy reboot. The star revealed that when he realized that the film, centered on his half-demons’ journey to save the world, would flop, he contacted Ryan Reynolds, actor of the bombed Green Lantern.
“I know him a little bit,” Harbour said.
“I called him, and I was like, ‘Hey man, I just need to know something. You know Green Lantern? Huge flop for you. What the f— is that like, because I think I’m going to hit that right now. Am I gonna be okay? Am I gonna survive this?'”
Reynolds was “sweet” about the query, according to Harbour.
