Jake Gyllenhaal is teaming up with his sister, Maggie, for what we hope will be an unforgettable new project we’ll remember all too well.
The famous siblings have been absent from acting together on screen for several years now. They last starred together in 2001 as brother and sister on Donnie Darko. In between time apart, the two worked with another two of their father Stephen’s movies – A Dangerous Woman (1993) and Homegrown (1998).
Gyllenhaal has revealed to InStyle that he is currently working with Maggie on an upcoming project.
“We actually talk about it more now than ever, and I would love to work with her,” he stated. “We are working together on something right now, just creatively, not as actors, which I’m enjoying so much.”
Although he couldn’t disclose any further details “yet,” he states of his sister, “She’s an incredible writer, and she’s an incredible filmmaker, and I’ve known that for a long time.”
Gyllenhaal said that he would be happy to collaborate with his sister in any capacity, citing her smash hit as a first-time director for The Lost Daughter last year.
“I would love to work with her. I’d love to act in one of her films or wherever she needs me,” Gyllenhaal stated. “Since we’ve been kids, I’ve been basically her assistant or whatever form she needs me to be in, so I will continue to be that. I’m her little brother, and if anyone’s a younger sibling, they understand what I mean.”
The family affair continues as these two come together for any project.
