A celebrity wedding in Vegas will not be complete without a single paparazzi roaming around the venue.
But if you’re Jennifer Lopez and you have a well-known newsletter titled On the JLo, there is no need for another media that commonly flocks in prestigious weddings.
And following her super publicized relationship and engagement to Ben Affleck 20 years previously, that’s likely more sensible.
The newly dubbed “Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck” revealed on the most recent issue of On the JLo the details of her small, intimate wedding in Vegas. Surprisingly, Bennifer went to The Strip, fell in line for a certificate with four other pairs, and almost got late.
“They graciously stayed open late a few times,” Mrs. Affleck said, “let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the kind himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra and he was in bed).”
Together with their children – all five – as witnesses, “a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben’s closet,” the pair exchanged vows and rings. The icon referred to it as “the best possible wedding we could have imagined.”
Mrs. Affleck also posted a video showing herself, dazzling in white, after putting on the wedding clothes in the chapel’s break room and Mr. Affleck in his “wedding changing area,” aka the men’s bathroom.

“Stick around long enough, and maybe you’ll find the best moment of your life in a drive-through in Las Vegas at twelve-thirty in the morning in the tunnel of love drive-through, with your kids and the one you’ll spend forever with,” the superstar said.
“Love is a great thing, maybe the best of things – and worth waiting for.”
She concluded the newsletter, saying: “With love,” she signed, “Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck.”
Bennifer History
2001
Mr. and Mrs. Affleck (or is it Mrs. and Mr. Lopez?) bumped into each other in December 2001 on the set of “Gigli,” where they portrayed criminals brought together on a job. There, they began a real friendship.
2002
In April, rumors of Ben and JLo having a relationship more than friends started when he made a trade publication full-page ad to promote their movie, as well as compliment her performance.
“It has been nothing but an honor and a pleasure to work with you,” he wrote in the ad. “I only wish I were lucky enough to be in all your movies.”
And then signed it: “With love, respect, and gratitude, Ben Affleck.”
Fast forward to July, JLo and Chris Judd filed for a divorce; however, they had allegedly been separated for a while by then.
“Jennifer Lopez and Chris Judd have announced they have resolved all issues arising out of their marriage,” said the pair’s lawyers in a statement at the time. “The resolution was extremely amicable… The two will remain friends.”
A month later, paparazzi-struck photos of JLo and Ben canoodling started circulating.
The couple got engaged three months later in November. Ben went on one knee with a resplendent, custom 6.1-carat diamond ring in pink from Harry Winston.
He also went on to play Lopez’s love interest in the music video for her song, “Jenny From the Block.” Affleck, in the video, kissed her popular booty in a scene of the pair on a yacht.
2003
JLo and Ben made their red carpet debut at the 75th Annual Academy Awards.
But before the couple tied the know, they delayed their nuptials and released the statement:
“Due to the excessive media attention surrounding our wedding, we have decided to postpone the date. When we found ourselves seriously contemplating hiring three separate ‘decoy brides’ at three different locations, we realized that something was awry. We began to feel that the spirit of what should have been the happiest day of our lives could be compromised. We felt what should have been a joyful and sacred day could be spoiled for us, our families, and our friends.”
At the time, sources said the couple was “taking a break.”
2004
JLo and Ben officially called off their engagement and went their separate ways.
They then went on to be linked and married other people until a few years later, when they rekindled their love.
