Kimberly Cole has officially released her highly anticipated new single, “Bloody Mary,” a track that aims to captivate her global audience with its depth, grit, and emotional resonance. Known for her distinctive blend of electro-pop and dance music, Cole has delivered a song that showcases her growth as both an artist and an individual. The release marks a turning point in her career as she moves beyond the sound that first brought her success and steps into a more authentic and introspective musical space.
Speaking about the song’s origins, Kimberly describes “Bloody Mary” as the product of a powerful collaboration. “The song is a beautiful collaboration between me and one of my favorite collaborators, Goldie. We have more music together coming soon that hits the depth and the frequency of what I feel my soul authentically needs to say. We put ‘catchy grit’ into our songs,” says Cole. This artistic partnership has allowed her to explore deeper themes and more genuine expressions, as she shifts from crafting radio-friendly hits to creating music that speaks to her own experiences and emotional truth.
The track was produced by Jeeve Ducornet, a long-time collaborator who has played a crucial role in developing Cole’s sound. “We have been working together for 15 years, and I credit him for helping me develop my sound. We literally locked ourselves in a creative cave for years developing, producing, experimenting, and finding the ethos to our sound. He’s also my ex-husband. We still create together. Keeps things interesting (and emotional) to say the least,” Cole reveals. The creative partnership between Cole and Ducornet has not only survived their personal relationship but has continued to thrive, resulting in a musical synergy that is evident in this latest release.

Recorded in their home studio in Universal City, Los Angeles, the song was shaped by a casual yet emotionally charged atmosphere. “We wrote and recorded in our home studio—a bright and sunny loft in Universal City overlooking the 101 freeway—while sipping Bloody Mary’s. Needless to say, it was a fun session. Many ‘demons’ were released that day,” Cole recounts. The relaxed environment of the recording session allowed for a raw and honest expression of emotions, which are palpably present in the final track.
While “Bloody Mary” stands alone as a significant release, it also offers a glimpse of what’s to come in Cole’s future projects. “It’s definitely a sonic example of what’s to come. I’ve grown up so much since releasing my first single ‘Smack You,’ which did its Billboard thing, eventually landing on the charts. But it did take me a divorce, the death of a parent, and accidental lies I was telling myself to rip the layers of sunny double entendre-laden pop songs to eventually realize…oh…maybe I should just start telling the truth,” Cole shares. This evolution in her creative process is apparent in “Bloody Mary,” which eschews superficiality in favor of honesty and vulnerability.
The themes of drama, pain, and anger run deep in the lyrics of “Bloody Mary,” reflecting a universal experience that Cole feels many can relate to. “The song represents all that is hidden underneath. Not just me, but all of us. All the things we hide. All the things we would never ever expose. Not just from our friends, family, and the people around us, but from ourselves. This song represents a confession to myself. A come-to-Jesus, a wake-up call, a surrender, the start of finally being honest with myself,” says Cole. The intensity of emotion behind the song gives it a resonance that goes beyond its catchy melodies, inviting listeners to explore their own hidden truths.

Kimberly Cole hopes that her fans will find something deeply personal and relatable in “Bloody Mary.” “I want listeners to hear the lyrics and put themselves in the same story. Because we all have the same one. We all feel that we have to portray some version of ourselves that we think that, somehow, we’re supposed to live up to. That shit gets profoundly exhausting and sometimes you crack and break—and you just can’t keep it up anymore,” she reflects. For Cole, this release represents not just a musical moment, but a personal declaration of bravery and authenticity.
As “BLOODY MARY” climbs the charts and gains traction with fans, Kimberly Cole is proving once again that she is a force to be reckoned with in the pop music industry. With each release, she pushes creative boundaries while staying true to herself, delivering music that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. The song is available to stream now on Spotify and Apple Music, marking the beginning of a new chapter in Kimberly Cole’s career.
