Migos’ Quavo will play the lead in a new action thriller movie Takeover from Quality Films and Trioscope, directed by Greg Jonkajtys and screenplay by Jeb Stuart (Die Hard, The Fugitive) and Brandon Easton (Marvel’s Agent Carter), Deadline reports.

Quavo will take on the role of Guy Miller, a parolee trying to get his life back on track but somehow gets roped back into Atlanta’s dangerous street racing scene.

Live-action performances and animation will be used to capture the stunts, sideshows, and tricks that define this part of car culture.

This latest role builds Quavo’s growing acting credits, which include his roles in Atlanta, Black-ish, and Narcos: Mexico. He has also been cast to star in Randall Emmett’s forthcoming film Wash Me in the River.

“I’m really excited for this opportunity, especially shooting in my hometown of Atlanta,” Quavo said in a statement. “This film is an ideal opportunity to further delve into my craft, and I can’t wait to see how the action plays out in this animated environment.”

Quavo Huncho, Quavo’s debut solo album and most recent record, came out in 2018. He recently released the new song “Shooters Inside My Crib,” worked on Bobby Shmurda and Pop Smoke tracks, and played at the 2022 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.
