The most recent music video for the song “Lavender Haze” from Taylor Swift’s most recent album Midnights was made public.

Written and directed by Swift herself, the video features a dreamy aesthetic with a soft, psychedelic feel. The image shows Swift wandering around her house with flowers sprouting from the carpet and her house floating in space.

One of the highlights of the video is the presence of transgender actor and activist Lais Ashley De La Cruz, who stars as Swift’s lover. This casting choice is a powerful statement as Swift continues to use her platform to speak out for marginalized communities.

With its dreamy atmosphere and ethereal visuals, the music video for “Lavender Haze” is a visual feast. The song’s mellow, reflective nature makes it a perfect match for the video’s artistic aesthetic.

“The Lavender Haze video is out now. There is lots of lavender. There is lots of haze,” Swift posted on Twitter after the visual was released.

“There is my incredible costar @laith_ashley who I absolutely adored working with. This was the first video I wrote out of the 3 that have been released, and this one really helped me conceptualize the world and mood of Midnights, like a sultry sleepless 70’s fever dream. Hope you like it,” she added.

Latest Release

Known for her success in the music industry, Taylor Swift recently released two music videos from her tenth studio album, Midnights. The songs “Anti-Hero” and “Bejeweled” were both directed by Swift herself.

However, she faced some controversy in her “Antihero” music video when she removed a shot of her stepping on a scale that said “FAT.” The move was seen as a response to the backlash she received for her original recordings.

Swift’s latest music video, “Lavender Haze,” has sparked speculation that another video may be on the way. The video starts with a shot of a record sleeve with the title “Mastermind” which is another track from Midnights.

Swift announced her extensive Eras Tour in support of the Midnights album in November.

However, the Ticketmaster website collapsed during the Verified Fan pre-sales due to overwhelming demand for tickets, which led to the cancellation of the public on-sale date for tour tickets.

This has resulted in multiple lawsuits against Ticketmaster and its parent company, Live Nation Entertainment, from fans who felt that the companies manipulated the sales unfairly.

Ticket Dilemma

The recent controversies surrounding Ticketmaster and Live Nation Entertainment have prompted a U.S. Senate Judiciary Subcommittee to hold a hearing to investigate the operations of the companies.

The hearing was led by Senator Amy Klobuchar and other members of Congress who quoted lyrics from Taylor Swift’s songs throughout the proceedings.

The incident caught the attention of lawmakers and the Justice Department, which has now opened an investigation into Live Nation Entertainment. The investigation reportedly began before the Eras ticketing problem, but the recent controversies have brought more attention to the issue.

The hearing and the investigation aim to uncover any potential antitrust issues and anti-competitive practices within the ticketing industry. It also raised questions about the power of the ticketing giant and its relationship with the music industry.

The outcome of this investigation could have significant ramifications for the way concert tickets are sold in the future.

‘Shake It Off’ Dispute Ends, In Favor of Taylor Swift

After a long battle, Taylor Swift has won a legal battle over her chart-topping song “Shake It Off.”

After a lengthy legal battle between Swift and songwriters Sean Hall and Nathan Butler, the case was finally settled when a judge allowed it to dismiss the joint motions of the star’s attorneys. The infringement lawsuit had just been brought to court a few weeks ago.

The Times report highlights a significant legal filing between two parties, but remains cryptic about any terms or outcomes.

Swift’s rep was also silent when asked for comment, so we could guess what was in store.

After five years of legal battles, Taylor Swift’s legendary hit single “Shake It Off” is finally free. Released as part of their acclaimed 1989 album, this song is now vindicated and rightfully belongs in pop culture history.

In 2017, Hall and Butler filed a copyright lawsuit against Swift for their song “Shake It Off.” They claimed that the lyrics, “the players gonna play, play, play, play, play” and “the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate” in “Shake It Off” violated their 2000 song’s copyright.

In 2018, a judge ruled that the phrase “haters gonna hate” is too commonplace to be copyrighted.

Additionally, the judge made an interesting observation in his ruling — Fleetwood Mac’s iconic “Dreams” and The Notorious B.I.G.’s classic jam “Playa Hater,” contains similar lyrical phrasing to what was disputed in court.

Shake It Off Guys

A ray of hope shone for the plaintiffs when, after a long year in limbo, their case was overturned by the Ninth Circuit Court and returned to the district court. But that hope seemed short-lived when the verdict ruled that they must finally settle the dispute in court.

Last year, Swift’s attorneys filed an appeal with U.S. District Judge Michael W Fitzgerald to overturn his ruling on her case and ultimately put the matter to rest – a move that surprised many legal experts at the time.

The court couldn’t shake it off, of course.

Attorneys for Swift argued that allowing the case to move forward would create a judicial history-breaker and set an entirely new precedent.

Additionally, they noted that “plaintiffs admitted, and it is undisputed, that the phrases “players gonna play” and “haters gonna hate” are unprotected and in the public domain.”

And unless the case is overruled, “plaintiffs could sue everyone who writes, sings, or publicly says “players gonna play” and “‘haters gonna hate,'” and “to permit that is unprecedented and ‘cheat[s] the public domain.'”

Swift has recently been working double-time to ensure she owns the rights to all of her music: in addition to releasing the album Midnights and planning a tour, she’s busy re-recording her classic albums from scratch.

Industry Impact

Swift has hit her stride in the director’s chair – showcasing the impressive talent that continues to astound.

Friday marked an exciting new milestone for the acclaimed singer-songwriter, as Searchlight Pictures announced that she would be making her feature film directorial debut.

With a script penned by her own hand, this 32-year-old artist is showcasing yet another dimension of creativity to show audiences around the world.

Searchlight will soon reveal the highly-anticipated details of their upcoming screenplay project.

Swift is no stranger to the world of directing, having recently launched a campaign for an Oscar nomination in Best Live Action Short Film with her 2019 project All Too Well: The Short Film. Her latest venture will be helming a feature-length movie, marking it as another milestone in her flourishing career as both singer and filmmaker.

The singer blazed the trail, creating history at this year’s MTV VMAs. She earned two Best Director awards – a first for any music artist- taking home one in honor of her short film “All Too Well” and another for directing the powerful visuals behind her single “The Man.”

“Taylor is a once-in-a-generation artist and storyteller,” Searchlight presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield said. “It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey.”

Swift’s Eras Tour

Ticketmaster can’t shake it off – I mean, shake this one off.

Over two-score eager Swift fans from coast to coast are bringing Ticketmaster to court, accusing the massive ticketing provider of mishandling tickets for her highly anticipated Eras Tour.

A courtroom drama unfolds in Los Angeles as 26 plaintiffs take action against Live Nation Entertainment, alleging violations of California’s Cartwright Act and Unfair Competition Law.

Plaintiffs have accused Live Nation of some serious crimes – from fraud to antitrust violations and alleged intentional deception. It’s a big deal with potential consequences that could shake up the concert industry as we know it.

“Millions of fans waited up to eight hours and were unable to purchase tickets,” the suit says, according to Rolling Stone. In addition, the plaintiffs claimed that Ticketmaster “intentionally and purposefully” misled ticket buyers “by allowing scalpers and bots access to TaylorSwiftTix presale.”

Many music fans were left feeling dejected when they learned that scoring tickets to their favorite performer’s concert was impossible. Sadly, scalpers took advantage of the intense demand and drove prices sky-high on re-sale sites like StubHub and SeatGeek – with some asking as much as a whopping $31,000 per ticket.

Eras Tour Ticketmaster Presale is Canceled Due to High Demands

This week has been hard for swifties.

Fans looking forward to securing tickets for Taylor Swift’s Era Tour during Friday’s scheduled public sale should hold still. Ticketmaster announced the cancellation on Thursday.

“Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow’s public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been canceled,” the company said.

However, they gave no further details about a postponement.

The news follows a week of uncertainty for many Swifties. Originally, advance tickets were available to users who qualified for the Ticketmaster Verified Fan program. However, minutes into the process, people started complaining about site errors and lengthy waiting times.

Fans said they waited in line for over five hours.

Moreover, hours after the sale began, Ticketmaster announced that buyers who wanted a ticket to the West Coast shows could not begin buying until 3 p.m. local time instead of the original schedule at 10:00 a.m. It includes shows in Los Angeles, Seattle, Las Vegas, and Santa Clara, California.

To cap it all off, Capital One cardholders have moved their presale from Tuesday to Wednesday. Unfortunately, the sale is only available for a few hours.

Ticketmaster released a statement on Thursday in an attempt to explain the confusion. It also revealed that Swift’s tour had broken Ticketmaster’s record. The Eras Tour sold more than 2 million tickets on Tuesday. This marks the bestselling show by the artist in a single day.

Eras Tour on Ticketmaster

To be verified and participate in the presale, Ticketmaster pre-registered individuals “to help manage high demand shows – identifying real humans and weeding out bots. Keeping bots out of queues and avoiding overcrowding helps to make waits shorter and on sales smoother.”

According to the company, around 3.5 million people have pre-registered. Additionally, they sent codes to 1.5 million people while the rest waited in line.

“Historically, working with Verified Fan invited codes has worked as we’ve been able to manage the volume coming into the site to shop for tickets,” Ticketmaster stated.

“However, this time, the staggering number of bot attacks as well as fans who didn’t have invite codes drove unprecedented traffic on our site, resulting in 3.5 billion total system requests – 4x our previous peak.”

The company continued: “It usually takes us about an hour to sell through a stadium show. But we slowed down some sales and pushed back others to stabilize the systems. The trade-off was longer wait times in queue for some fans.”

Ticketmaster further explained that considering the traffic volume they had this week, Swift must perform in more than 900 stadium shows to address the demand.

“While it’s impossible for everyone to get tickets to these shows, we know we can do more to improve the experience, and that’s what we’re focused on,” the company said.

The Swifties’ flocking came after Swift set additional dates on the Eras tour, not only once but twice. She wants to set a sum of 52 dates in the US today. International tour stops are yet to be announced.

Taylor Swift’s Midnights Announcement Spark Easter Egg Hunting

Taylor Swift has, again and again, made a new era for her tracks.

The singer-songwriter confirmed at the 2022 VMAs that her next album release will be her long-awaited 10th studio album, Midnights, rather than one of her re-recorded albums as many had assumed.

Fans know all too well that the legend loves Easter eggs. After two unexpected releases with Evermore and Folklore, Swift has returned to drop patterns of the past with one announcement and bit-by-bit information.

In short, we cannot sit still and wait. We need to investigate: so, here is information about Midnights from EW.

A lead single hasn’t been announced yet, but Swift teased her Easter egg-giving on Sept. 21 by revealing it will be released randomly track by track in a video series called Midnights Mayhem With Me on TikTok.

These song titles have already been announced in the series: “Question…?” (7), “Vigilante S—” (8), and “Mastermind” (13).

After Swift veered away from the themes of her last two albums, the songs spark a comeback to something more personal.

In her announcement of Midnights, Swift called it “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.”

“This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams,” she said on the note.

“The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching – hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve… we’ll meet ourselves.”

Perhaps this means that while the album’s title is evocative, it will feature a mix of darker and lighter songs, as well as a mix of different genres.

Swift Collaborators on Midnights

Notably, Swift has a longtime relationship with Target. And like what she has done in the past, an independent bonus edition of the album, which has been titled the Lavender Edition, is available there.

This new edition consists of three bonus tracks, two of which are mixes, per the product’s Target page. The songs will sadly not be available on other album editions.

Meanwhile, the icon has remained tight-lipped on any possible collaborations. But, in the behind-the-scenes clip posted on her Instagram handle, longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff – who had contributed to producing songs on previous albums 1989, Reputation, Lover, Folklore, and Evermore – can be spotted, hinting that he is part of the Midnights creation too.
