Design Beyond Boundaries: Irina Nikolaeva’s Creative Revolution

When guided by a talented professional and combined with science, creativity yields ingenious discoveries. Irina Nikolaeva, a Master of Design from Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering, founder of the Design World design studio, author of a unique method of psychological influence on design, an academic expert in the field of design, author, and lecturer, a professional speaker at numerous international conferences delivering presentations on topics in this field, has, from a scientific perspective, demonstrated the influence of interior design on human physical and mental health. Undoubtedly, she has revolutionized her industry.

Through the lens of academic knowledge, personal perception, and practical experience, Irina Nikolaeva finds unconventional solutions that genuinely embody tranquility and coziness.

Special attitude to living space

Nature endowed Irina Nikolaeva with the talent to sense style and beauty on a unique level. The millennia-long history and cultural heritage of her hometown, Kazan (Republic of Tatarstan), combined with quality education and a passion for science, honed this talent to the highest degree of professionalism.

Irina Nikolaeva is known in Europe and Eurasia for her unique approach to space design. When creating the design of a commercial or residential space, she goes beyond arranging furniture nicely or painting walls in trendy colors. She studies the characters of people and the direction of the business, their traits and preferences, habits, and peculiarities. The result is a stunning project that positively impacts physical and psychosocial health.

“Initially, I had a great interest in both design and the psychology of an individual. However, once I applied several psychological techniques in one of my projects and was pleasantly surprised by the result. Since then, the psychology of design has become a separate scientific field for me, which I study, analyze, and experiment with. From a scientific and practical standpoint, I have proven that being in a well-designed interior makes a person more resilient to stress, expands their individuality boundaries, energizes them, makes them more positive, sleep well, and always be in a great mood,” says Irina Nikolaeva.

Science as a category of style

Irina Nikolaeva translates her vision of modern interiors aimed at the comfortable psychological state of the occupants into her own scientific articles and lectures. Additionally, her first book on the psychology of design is being prepared for publication, where the expert will share her developments and recommendations with practicing designers.

In Western Europe, Irina Nikolaeva is well-known as an excellent speaker and scientific publicist. The designer was awarded a speaker’s diploma for her contribution to the industry and was nominated for the ASID National Awards in the Legacy | Steward of Distinction-2023 category. Irina Nikolaeva’s scientific works are reviewed by outstanding figures in the field of architecture and arts, including Master of Arts at the Institute of Intellectual Integration, Mr. Arthur Sebgll, and the project leader of the Institute of Intellectual Integrations, Dr. Emma Figel (Austria).

Design without bounds

Both in science and in her work, Irina Nikolaeva does not accept boundaries and limitations. Since 2017, she has been collaborating remotely with clients from different parts of the world, offering unique solutions in interior design and exclusive environmentally friendly elements of decor and furniture without being bound to the place of residence.

In creating projects, Irina Nikolaeva always relies on trends—current colors from Pantone, fashion trends in architecture and design, new developments in psychology. According to her own words, her task is to create a space that becomes a place of liberation from stress for a person.

Prospects and plans

Irina Nikolaeva enthusiastically shares her experience with young specialists, conducts webinars, and participates in specialized exhibitions. Alongside writing her book, the designer is developing a manual for students of her future design school, writing a scientific dissertation, and planning to obtain a degree in art history.

The incredible energy of Irina Nikolaeva, her amazing efficiency, and a truly rare talent to create healing spaces for people, as well as a strong desire to share her experience with other professionals, allow us to hope that over time, her unique idea of relieving an individual from emotional burnout and fatigue through interior design, which Irina Nikolaeva has generated and developed, will acquire a planetary scale. We would greatly welcome that.
