As the cradle of artistic diversity and boundary-breaking storytelling, the New Media Film Festival® proudly announces its early lineup for the grand 15th edition set to take place in Los Angeles, California, June 5-6, 2024. Upholding the commendable tradition of celebrating “Stories Worth Telling,” the festival has been an unparalleled platform for nurturing creativity and diversity since 2009.

Forefronting the theme “All Ages, All Cultures, All Media,” the New Media Film Festival® embodies its unwavering commitment to globally inclusive creativity. What distinguishes the festival further is its star-studded judging panel composed of influential figures from the entertainment and publishing industries, encompassing experts from Marvel, HBO, BBC, PBS, ABC, the Emmys®, Simon & Schuster, Rolling Stone, the Grammys®, and BMI.

The early lineup of entries unfurls a creative tapestry stretching from the USA to Lithuania. The submissions, encompassing a wide gamut of formats, themes, and stories, underscore the festival’s inclusive and pioneering spirit. From farming life in America aptly captured in “Stewards of the Land,” to OpenAI’s DALL-E’s A.I.-infused film “Critterz,” the lineup truly commemorates the magic of storytelling.

The lineup includes potent short films like “Rockaway” that charts a woman’s journey through grief to children’s stories like “If I Were A Pony” that morphs into a relatable tale of youthful exuberance. Further showcasing the narrative prowess are scripts for short animations like “Marbles” and “The Baobab Tree,” and feature dramas like “The Isthmus.” Not to be left behind, the lineup also features unique media like the immersive V.R./360 game “Alone Time” and the digital comic “The Legion of WAYB4: Elyon and The Kingdom of the Realm (Issue #1).”

The New Media Film Festival® transcends the scope of a mere film or script showcase. It morphs into an eclectic kaleidoscope of creativity, innovation, and storytelling diversity. This celebration of the arts fosters a space for creatives to present their work to an audience that revels in the depth and variety of new-age storytelling.

Submissions for the festival remain open until April 6th, 2024, with exciting award opportunities totaling $45,000. Interested creatives can find the detailed guidelines on the New Media Film Festival®’s official website, www.newmediafilmfestival.com.

As Emmy and Golden Globe Nominee Matthew Modine fittingly highlights, “New technologies have empowered and enabled creators outside of a studio or network system to make their own movies and develop cutting-edge entertainment. Affordable cameras and editing software allow artists to create and express their skills for a multitude of new distribution platforms. We are presently witness to how storytelling is being redefined in the 21st Century. New Media Film Festival highlights and showcases what will come next.”
