Donna’s trail in the world of music winds through the globe’s most prestigious venues. From Europe’s city streets filled with rich culture in Paris, Switzerland, Ireland, Italy, and Wales, to the esteemed stages of the Metropolitan Opera Guild Recital Hall in Lincoln Center, New York and The Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach. Her vibrant U.S. tours have touched the souls of audiences in Phoenix, Miami, New York, Washington DC, and Nashville. Notably, her evocative presentations have graced several U.S. festivals, including the Nebraska International Jazz Festival and the Saratoga Arts Festival in New York.

Growing up in Upstate New York, Donna and her twin sister, Dawn, received an early initiation into the world of jazz, tuning into the melodies of celebrated artists such as Nancy Wilson, Billy Strayhorn and Count Basie. This early exposure and passion for jazz led Donna to become a powerful jazz vocalist, ushering the essence of jazz into various corners of the world including North America, South America, Europe, Australia, and Africa.

Donna’s musical journey is a testament to her commitment to her craft. As a graduate of the New York Academy of Theatrical Arts and former student at The Juilliard School, she seamlessly merged her acquired knowledge with her inherent passion to establish Dr. Donna’s School of Song. Here, she molds future musicians, offering guidance in piano and voice.

Despite her numerous accomplishments, Donna’s voice is still her most prized asset. It resonates vividly through her 12 recordings, earning accolades particularly for her song ‘Take God’s Hand’ – a composition that stayed at #1 on the Roots Religious Music Chart for nine consecutive weeks in 2021. A testament to her universal appeal is the phenomenal success of her Christmas single for 2023, “The Marvelous, Magical Merry Mrs. Claus,” which ascended swiftly to #1 on the Roots Holiday Jazz Chart.

Her talent has taken her onto significantly distinguished platforms. In 2021, she serenaded an intimate gathering attended by the former South African ambassador, and was invited by the NFL to sing during their Professional Football Players Mothers Association Super Bowl Luncheon. In her strive to uplift others using music, she founded and produces The Joyful Journey Music Festival, which hosts artists from various genres.

Donna’s prowess is not contained just within the bounds of performance and teaching. From 1998 to 2004, she hosted the weekly gospel music show, “Down by the River” and enjoyed a 15-year stint as the lead vocalist in the Swing Shift Orchestra. Her creative pursuits extend to authorship as well; she lends a glimpse into her journey as an international vocalist through her book Expert Profiles: Conversations with Influencers and Innovators, Volume 11.
