With a humble demeanor, Goldfine reveals his aspirations for industry recognition, stating, “The most important thing, I think, is to be thought of as a good, thoughtful, successful film, television and stage Producer.” His desire to be acknowledged as a versatile storyteller capable of traversing genres while maintaining excellence underscores his commitment to the craft. A reputation as a “doer” who merges creative vision with fiscal responsibility further defines his professional ethos. “I would love it if when I announce something, people get excited,” says Phil.

When queried about public perception, Goldfine yearns for his name to evoke visions of quality storytelling and unwavering productivity. “I think I would want them to think of me as somebody who gets things done – a ‘doer’ and produces and makes quality films and television shows and plays,” he articulates. His joy at eliciting excitement with project announcements reflects a career punctuated by moments of anticipation and fulfillment, such as the sequels to Lost Boys and Christmas Story. “I think the two films I did that with were the sequels to Lost Boys and Christmas Story. But that’s another story,” shares Phil.
Beyond his monumental Oscar triumph, Goldfine enumerates personal milestones, notably his three children, alongside his Emmy and Tony victories. His body of work, spanning nearly 200 projects and encompassing diverse narratives, is a testament to his enduring legacy. “First and foremost, I would have to say my three kids, then the Oscar, Emmys, and Tony. And, of course, my body of work,” shares Phil.
Reflecting on his proudest cinematic creations, Goldfine cites The Lady in Number Six, a poignant documentary that captivated audiences worldwide. “Off the top of my head: The Lady in Number Six, of course. But with close to 200 projects produced, not to mention the films in development and the IPs we own, for example, the 1960’s super hit, Green Acres, I can find something I love in each one of them,” says Phil. However, amidst his expansive repertoire, each project holds a special place, a testament to his unwavering dedication and passion for storytelling.

Looking ahead, Goldfine tantalizes with hints of forthcoming endeavors, including his involvement in the Broadway play SMASH alongside luminaries such as Steven Spielberg and Neil Jordan. Additionally, a new romantic comedy beckons, poised to charm audiences with its endearing narrative. “So one never wants to talk too much about projects in the future, but we’re part of the new Broadway play SMASH with Steven Spielberg, Bob Greenblatt and Neil Jordan,” says Phil.
As the holiday season approaches, Goldfine teases the imminent release of Christmas and Halloween productions, promising enchanting tales that will capture hearts and ignite imaginations. “Also starting a new romantic comedy that is inching towards the starting gate. And, of course, we’ll have our Christmas and Halloween Releases ready shortly,” shares Phil.
